# Usage with Claude

> Add StrideHQ as a custom connector in Claude and sign in with your StrideHQ login.

The StrideHQ MCP server address is:

```
https://app.stridehq.ai/api/mcp
```

Custom connectors are available on all Claude plans. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

**On Free, Pro and Max:**

1. In Claude, open **Settings > Connectors** (or **Customize > Connectors**).
2. Select **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
3. Name it "StrideHQ", paste the server address and continue.
4. Leave the detected settings as they are: **Sign in now** under **Authentication**, and **Use Claude's published identity** under **OAuth client**. Don't add any request headers.
5. Select **Add**. StrideHQ appears in your connectors, waiting for you to sign in.
6. Select **Connect**. The StrideHQ sign-in page opens.
7. Sign in with your StrideHQ login.
8. On **Connect an AI client**, check the organisation. If you belong to more than one, choose which one to connect.
9. Approve access. You're returned to Claude, which shows "Connected to StrideHQ".

**On Team and Enterprise:**

An Owner adds the connector once for everyone:

1. Open **Organization settings > Connectors**.
2. Select **Add**, hover over **Custom** and select **Web**.
3. Name it "StrideHQ", paste the server address and continue.
4. Leave the detected sign-in settings and **OAuth client** as they are, and don't add any request headers.
5. Select **Add**.

On Team, only Owners and Primary Owners can add connectors. On Enterprise, people with a custom role that includes Manage access to Libraries can too.

Each person then opens **Settings > Connectors**, selects **Connect** on StrideHQ and signs in with their own StrideHQ login.

Never paste a StrideHQ API key into request headers. The connector signs each person in with their own login.
