# Update an invoice

> Updates an invoice that is `in_review` or `action_required`. Approved invoices can't be changed.

## Responses

- **200**: The updated invoice.
- **400**: `unknown_field` (including `currency` and `creator_id`, which can't be changed), `invalid_parameter`, `invalid_json` or `invalid_content_type`.
- **401**: `missing_api_key`, `invalid_api_key`, `revoked_api_key` or `wrong_environment`.
- **404**: `resource_not_found`: no such object in your organisation.
- **409**: `invoice_not_editable`, `duplicate_invoice`, `idempotency_key_reused` or `idempotency_key_in_use`.
